I have tinkered about with stone all my life, but have only very recently taken up sculpture. I was trained as a geologist and for many years worked as a travelling curator helping museums with the conservation and identification of their rock, fossil and mineral collections. However home and family life have helped change all that!
I now work part-time as an archaeologist, digging, researching and writing about prehistoric metal mining, although I have still a great passion for rock. I am inspired by the cliffs and by the blooming great boulders that I collect off the beaches in the UK. These boulders such as serpentine from Cornwall and black limestone from Wales are then transformed into my sculpture.
