I enjoy the sheer physicality of shaping stone - an intensely exciting and challenging medium which I have worked in for the past ten years.
I carve 'exotic' multi-coloured stones such as African serpentine, alabaster, Persian travertine and simple British limestone, which remains my favourite. Using only hand tools, I enjoy coaxing out the texture of different rocks, ranging in density from creamy soft to hard and brittle.
I tend to let the stone itself suggest the form which then develops organically. My approach varies from the abstract to the figurative - and also explores the 'space in between.'
Some sculptures are for sale also commissions undertaken. Please contact the artist for details.
